1. Make the time to network
You might see networking as an additional extra in your job search or career transition, but setting aside a certain amount of time each week to network both offline and online and then actually doing it really will enhance your chances of finding the right job, getting more work your way and more.
2. Know why you're doing it
Be clear about what you are networking for. Why are you building up a network in the first place? It’s important to know why you are doing it and the purpose of networking for you in order to make sure you achieve the outcome you want from it.
3. Think about who you want to network with
What types of connections do you want? Think about the type of network you want to create and the types of connections you are after. Is it a numbers game? Is it strong relationships? Is it expertise in a certain sector or is it diversity across areas?
